What role does faith play in fashion? God doesn't only call preachers on Sunday morning; He also uses designers, models, and even celebrities! As a blogger and a Christian; it is so awesome to come across like minded individuals who understand the balance between faith and fashion. Beauty Arise recently featured me on their Facebook page and I really wanted to reciprocate their kindness by featuring them on my blog today.
Beauty Arise is a great organization that represents Christ in a fashion setting. My friend Kate is a part of it through YWAM LA and was recently at NYFW with a couple other Beauty Arise gals. They partnered with Models for Christ to dress models at runway shows, lend a helping hand, and best of all, they got to share the gospel with everyone they came across. (Which includes praying with models before they walk. How great is that?) Now they get to do it all over again with LA Fashion Week. Good luck, girls. Praying for you!
When Beauty Arise is not involved in such a large scale project, they're on the web posting inspirational quotes and Bible verses to their social websites. I highly encourage you to follow them and enjoy their positive message.

As often as I can, I strive to post some take away text with my outfits. My blog name is An Old Story for crying out loud, of course I have stories to share and adventures I want to take you on. If I just wanted to show you guys my clothes, I would have called this blog "An Old Outfit." (And that's a really unappealing name!) (Sorry to any blogs that are actually named that...)

Thrifting is great for finding those unique, one-of-a-kind pieces of clothing. But when it comes to basics, you almost have better luck buying brand new. That was the case with this tan skirt I bought last spring from Asos.com. It's proved to be incredibly versatile and one of my favorite items in my wardrobe. I've worn it for every season and lots of different occasions. Here are the ways I've styled it on the blog to give you some inspiration!
Is there nothing it doesn't match?
